This sauce is the perfect addition to the New Year’s Day ham (and, as Allison said, for the required ham and havarti sandwiches that follow). The horseradish can be adjusted for your personal taste. Allison considers the recipe amount to yield a medium-hot flavor.

Ingredients:
1 12-oz jar apricot or peach preserves
2 1/2 tsp prepared horseradish
2 Tbsp Dijon mustard
1/4 cup crushed pineapple, drained
Directions:
Combine all ingredients, chill overnight. Keeps several days. Serve with ham, on sandwiches, or with cream cheese as an appetizer spread.
